Ministries
Old North provides a wide range of pastoral services, including hospital and home visitation, grief support, pastoral counselling for families, individuals, and couples.
Caring Ministry
Old North participates in the Christian tradition of helping our neighbors by providing transportation and meals to those who need assistance.
Christian Service
Our church has a vibrant Christian service program that ministers locally and world-wide, such as the Heifer Project, Habitat for Humanity, the Salem Mission homeless shelter, support of education in Rwanda and ministerial relationships in South Africa.
Salem Mission Teams
Every Tuesday night a group from Old North goes to the The Salem Mission to prepare and serve supper for homeless people and others in need in the community. New team members are invited.
Deacon's Fund
Old North meets parishoners' emergency needs such as a utility or prescription bill or rental payment.
Prayer Shawls
Knitters and crocheters meet in the Great Room on Monday mornings to make shawls for people in need. Each shawl is completed with a prayer and delivered to its recipient.
Education
Adult Education
Old North has an on-going educational program addressing social, moral, and educational issues. Under a trained leader the group frequently meets in the church parlor after the 10 o’clock service on Sundays. Groups also gather in each others homes to discuss contemporary issues.
Bible Reflection
This ad hoc group meets weekly to read and discuss Scriptures to be used in the following Sunday's service.
Fellowship
Bridge
Players of all levels are invited to the Parish Hall every other Friday evening.
Funding and Fellowship
An active program of fellowship provides pot luck suppers, special intergenerational parties, and special events.
S. O. S. Club
The S.O.S. Club is made up of women who are always there to land a helping hand during our many activities.
Stewardship
Stewardship plays an integral role in the life of Old North. Stewardship provides the core and foundation of our activities and service.
Temple Partnership
Old North Church has a long-standing relationship with Temple Emanu-El. Each year the two congegrations participate in a pulpit exchange. Our minister preaches at the temple; their rabbi preaches at our church. Their web site can be viewed at http://www.emanu-el.org.
